ZAIRE Kids’ T-shirt | Kids’ T-shirt for Football Fans
A replica of the football jersey worn by the Zaire National Team during the 1974 World Cup. This piece is iconic because the team’s participation in that tournament left one of the most unusual moments in football history.
The surprise came in the match against Brazil, at the 80th minute, when the referee awarded a free kick to the Brazilian team. What shocked everyone was defender Mwepu Ilunga sprinting out of the wall and kicking the ball away as soon as the whistle blew — a move that sparked both laughter and criticism.
While many believed the players didn’t know the rules, years later the defender admitted he did it on purpose — as an act of protest — to expose the harsh reality of the Zairean national team, which had been threatened by the country’s ruling dictatorship.
Our kids’ T-shirt line is designed to represent the history, culture, and passion of the sport, so the youngest fans can carry a piece of the world’s most beautiful game with them every day. We are Kiricocho, the exclusive brand for those who truly know football ⚽.
